Our History

The founders of FootPrints Home Care came together from a variety of talents and backgrounds: David Adkins brought a wide range of experience in business ownership, ministry, and the Air Force. Gary Oppedahl and Brian Fletcher spent much of their careers in technology. Walt Benson came from a diverse background in banking, business development, and quality initiatives and Jason Taylor rounded out the group with a history in mortgage banking, personal fitness, and ministry. These five entrepreneurial businessmen had a common purpose: to be a blessing to their community while changing the way business is perceived in the city of Albuquerque and beyond.

With their purpose identified, they began looking for a market to serve. Recalling the struggles faced by Gary and his family when his mother was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a home care company was conceived. Soon after, in August 2005, FootPrints Home Care was born. The goal was to provide non-medical in-home care for senior citizens in the Albuquerque region, while staying firmly focused on delivering peace of mind to the families it would serve.

Through faithful service to the community, FootPrints has earned a strong reputation in the home care industry in Albuquerque while continuing to be at the forefront of non-medical in-home senior care.
